TANAP NATURAL GAS PIPELINE

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

TANAP corridor starts at the Georgia/Turkey border in Türkgözü/Posof/Ardahan where it connects to the Southern Caucasus Natural Gas Pipeline (SCP); ends at the Turkey/Greece border in İpsala/Edirne where it will feed TAP Pipeline. There are two off-take stations in Turkey, one in Eskişehir and one in Thrace, so as to ensure a connection to Turkey's natural gas distribution network.

TANAP (Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project) planned to be realized is a pipeline system which is 1,805 km long in total and measures 56 inches by 48 inches. It will initially transmit 16 billion m³ natural gas in necessary specifications and quantity, then this capacity will be gradually increased to annual 31 billion m³. 6 billion m³ gas will be annually distributed through the off-take stations to the consumers in Turkey under the scope of Gas Transmission Agreement.
